What Do You Want to Catch?
When you go out for a day on the Salty Hooker, you never know exactly what you're going to catch. But depending on the time of year, the weather, where you're putting in, and what kind of bait you're using, you can target specific kinds of fish. You can catch Striper, Cobia, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, Bluefin Tuna, Bigeye Tuna, Longfin Tuna, Spadefish, Mako Sharks, Thresher Sharks, Blue Marlin, White Marlin, Sailfish, Dolphin, Swordfish, Barracuda, Rockfish, and Bluefish when you go out saltwater fishing with us. Just tell Captain Jake what kind of fish you're after!

  striped bass, striper, rockfish

Striped Bass, aka Striper or Rockfish
One of the most sought-after fin fish in the Mid Atlantic coastal waters. Stripers can reach in excess of 100 lbs and 5 feet in length. Excellent eating and trophy fish!

  cobia Cobia
Large, sleek, extremely strong fish - thrilling to wrestle in. Cobia can reach in excess of 100 lbs. Watch out - Cobia can do damage once you get them on the deck!

  wahoo

Wahoo
Fastest and meanest mackerel in the Mid Atlantic waters - said to reach swim speeds of over 60 mph. Wahoo are delicious, with firm yet delicate white meat.

  yellowfin tuna Yellowfin Tuna
One of the biggest gamefish we catch - Yellowfin Tuna can grow to be almost 9 ft long and over 440 lbs! Extremely challenging and satisfying catch.

  spadefish Spadefish
These black and white beauties are fun to catch because they like to put up a tough fight the whole way. Spadefish require more finesse because they can be finicky eaters and have excellent eyesight.

  mako shark Mako Shark
These spirited sharks are a favorite for shark fishing because they love to fight and are known for exciting airborne jumps! Makos make great photo opportunities, too.

  thresher shark Thresher Shark
The unusually long tail (as long as the body) is an easy way to identify these sharks, but watch out! Thresher sharks have been known to knock fishermen down with that tail!
